UIC's season came to an end in the Horizon League semifinals, after Youngstown State finished off a 4-2 win Saturday afternoon.
The Penguins captured the doubles point, but UIC bounced back with two quick singles wins to take a 2-1 lead. YSU claimed a win at #1 singles, upsetting Horizon League Player of the Year
Agnes Gustafsson, and then won at #4 and #6 to move on to the championship match.

- Jover completed an undefeated season on the #3 singles court with a 6-3, 6-3 win. She went 17-0 in that flight, and 22-4 overall, with her only singles losses coming in advanced rounds of tournaments and at #2.

- Malazonia put the Flames ahead with a 6-4, 6-4 win at #2.Â

- On the #1 court, Gustafsson jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the first set, but after her opponent rallied, she lost the last two games of the set. She could not build momentum in the second set and fell by a 7-5, 6-3 final.

- Hrabalova bounced back from a shutout in the first set. She played to a 4-4 tie in set two, and it remained close to the end, but she finished on the wrong end of a 6-0, 7-6 (5) score at #4.

- Midway through the first set, rain started to fall and moved the matches indoors. The #1 through #4 matches continued on the indoor courts, but courts 5 and 6 had to wait for others to finish before they could resume. Youngstown State was up 3-2 when Forste-Dinell and Arendt were able to return to action, and both needed to win to keep the team's season alive.
- Arendt had a lead when her match was interrupted, and continued to build it to a 5-2 advantage when she got back on the #6 court. She lost five straight games in the first set, and could not get a crucial break in the second. The 7-5, 6-4 Penguin win clinched the match.

- Forste-Dinell had a 4-3 lead, having won three straight games, quickly after resumption and went on to take the first set. Playing at #5, she was up 6-4, 4-5 when her match was ended.
