Streaking Flames Seek Revenge Against Northwestern

UIC and Northwestern will meet Wednesday evening in midweek action

CHICAGO -- The UIC baseball team returns home for a midweek contest on Wednesday, May 4, as the Flames play host to Northwestern. First pitch at Granderson Stadium is set for 6:05 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, but was postponed to Wednesday due to inclement weather in the forecast Tuesday evening.

FIRST PITCH
• The Flames have a pair that rank inside the top-10 in the Horizon League in hitting as Bryan Rosario ranks sixth overall with a .336 batting average while Rayth Petersen is eighth (.326).
• The 21 runs scored by UIC over Purdue Fort Wayne last time out are the most runs scored by any Horizon League team in any game this year while the seven doubles in the contest also rank as the highest single-game output by a League team this year.

1-2 PUNCH
• The tandem of Nate Peterson and Tyler Ingram have excelled at the top of UIC's rotation.
• Ingram leads all Horizon League starters with a 2.97 ERA while Peterson ranks third with a 3.23 earned run average.
• Peterson ranks first among all Horizon League pitchers with a 4.67 strikeout-to-walk ratio while sitting second in the League with 70 strikeouts on the season.
• Another starter for the Flames, Cristian Lopez, has a team-leading five wins on the season, tops in the Horizon League.
• UIC's team ERA of 5.18 is tops in the Horizon League, nearly half a point better than second-place Youngstown State (5.55).

FLAMES HEAT UP
• The Flames have begun to heat up, entering the home stretch of the season having won 10 of its last 11 contests.
• UIC swept Purdue Fort Wayne last weekend, its first three-game sweep of the season, after scoring a season-high 21 runs in the series finale.
• The Flames have outscored its opponents 94-51 over the stretch, averaging 9.4 runs per game while limiting teams to 5.1 runs per contest.
• After starting the month 1-4, the Flames ended the month 9-2 before picking up a win over the 'Dons in the first game of May.
