ORLANDO, Fla. – The UIC volleyball team dropped a five-set battle to UNC Wilmington Saturday afternoon on Day 2 of the UCF Invitational.

Three Flames recorded double-doubles, with
Martina Delucchi leading the way offensively with 18 kills and 17 digs.
Paola Santiago added 16 kills and 12 digs while
Sohila Wafeek directed the offense with 52 assists and 10 digs.
Jaclyn Oblena anchored the back line with a season-high 23 digs.

The teams traded the first four sets, with UIC claiming the first and third sets by 25-17 and 25-18 margins, respectively. The Seahawks responded in the second and fourth sets with 25-18 and 25-21 triumphs to force a decisive fifth set.

In the deciding set, the Seahawks jumped out to an 8-4 lead and maintained a lead of at least three through the remainder of the set, closing out a 15-10 decision.

The Flames will round out competition at the UCF Invitational Sunday afternoon, taking on the tournament hosts at 4 p.m. (CT).

- Saturday marked the first time this season that three Flames recorded a double-double in the same match.
- Freshman Colleen Hege had the best match of her young UIC career, collecting a season-high 13 digs in the match.
- Zahria Woodard once again led the blocking efforts with three solo blocks and six assisted blocks. Woodard was a factor in six of UIC's nine blocks in the match.
- UIC owned statistical advantages in kills (64-54) and digs (81-65).
