DES MOINES, IOWA- The UIC women's basketball team (11-7, 3-4 MVC) fell to Drake (10-5, 5-2 MVC) on the road Thursday night, 63-51.

Josie Filer finished with a team-high 18 points for the Flames, while tacking on four rebounds and three steals.
Ky Dempsey-Toney scored 12 points off the bench, going four for five from the charity stripe.
FIRST HALF- The Bulldogs came out of the gate strong, pulling out to a 20-2 lead early in the second quarter. The Flames were down by 22 points heading in to halftime.
SECOND HALF- After shooting 51.7% (15-for-29) in the first half, the Bulldogs cooled off to start the second half, and the Flames began to bridge the gap. UIC outscored Drake 29-19 over the final 20 minutes of the game, including by a 22-10 margin in the fourth quarter.
The Flames shot 46% from the field in the fourth, but were but were unable to recover from their first half deficit.
UIC will aim to bounce back Saturday afternoon as they travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa on Northern Iowa (11-5, 6-1 MVC). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT and you can watch the action on ESPN+.
