FLAMES FACTS
  • UIC (8-3-2, 3-1-1 MVC) enters the week after returning to the win column in a convincing 5-1 victory over Evansville at Flames Field Saturday night. Five different Flames scored in the match, including Juan Gutierrez (Waukegan, Ill.) and Preston Huitron (Aurora, Ill.) tallying their respective first goals of the season. The Flames scored four goals in a half for the first time since a six-goal outburst against Bradley Oct. 23, 2022 in a 6-2 victory.
  • The Flames continue to score goals at a nationally-competitive pace, as UIC ranks 22nd in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 2.08 goals per match this season. As a team, the Flames rank in the top-three in The Valley in every offensive category.
  • Team-leading goal scorer Bart Muns (Amsterdam, Netherlands) is the only player in the MVC to be in the top-five in the conference in both goals and assists this season.
  • Jesus De Vicente (Casas Bajas, Spain/Iowa Western CC) continues to pace the conference in assists with nine and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division I with 0.69 assists per match.
The Falcons (5-5-3, 2-2 MVC) return home to Cochrane Soccer Stadium for the first time since Sep. 30 this week. BGSU has played three-straight matches on the road (0-2-1), including a Saturday night 2-1 loss at Belmont in Nashville. Currently sitting in fifth place in The Valley with just four conference matches remaining, the Falcons have a lot to play for down the stretch, with only the top-six teams reaching the Missouri Valley Championship beginning Nov. 5.
