10/7/2023 11:36:00 AM

CHICAGO (Oct. 7, 2023) – The UIC women's soccer team (4-6-3, 3-2-1 MVC) will hit the road again for a Sunday afternoon matchup against Evansville (0-3-8, 0-0-5 MVC) as they inch closer to the last Missouri Valley Conference contest.

LAST TIME OUT
UIC recently played to a scoreless draw against Indiana State on Thursday, the team's first conference tie of the season. Despite not finding the back of the net during the 90 minutes of play, the Flames came close to scoring on several occasions and displayed strong defensive performances. Sophomore Riley Collett (Fond du Lac, Wisconsin/Fond du Lac) created scoring opportunities for her team, while goalkeeper Lauren Keiser (Santa Rosa Beach, Florida/South Walton) stood firm in the net. Redshirt junior Shelsea Rigby (Hillsborough, New Jersey/Hillsborough) played the entire match as a defender, providing consistent stability to the backline.

The Flames currently hold a 1-4-2 record while playing on the road and a 1-1-1 record in conference road contests.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
Evansville has had a week-long break from the pitch, with its last match ending in a 1-1 tie against Belmont. The Purple Aces will put a six-match unbeaten streak on the line against the UIC on Sunday. Despite this run, the team has yet to secure a victory this season. Evansville has four players who have scored a goal this season.

UIC leads the all-time series against Evansville 1-0. This upcoming game will be the second meeting between the Flames and Purple Aces, with their first encounter occurring last season, a 1-0 victory for UIC.

MATCH INFORMATION
The Sunday afternoon match against the Purple Aces will kick off at 1 p.m. CT at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Indiana. Fans can stream the contest on ESPN+ and live stats will be accessible on the Flames' website.
