IOWA CITY, IOWA - The UIC women's swimming & diving team completed its first two days of competition at the 2023 Missouri Valley Swimming & Diving Championship. Through Thursday's events, UIC is fourth in the team standings with 326.50 points.

- Poleena Kovalaske set the school record and finished third on the podium with a time of 23.06. She became the first Flame swimmer in school history to finish in the top three of an event at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship meet.
200 Freestyle Relay
200 IM
- Taira Juronis swam a time of 2:03.29, setting a new school record. She place seventh in the event.
500 Freestyle
- Madison Helmick had a strong showing in the 500 freestyle, finishing in fifth (4:55.27)
1-Meter Diving
The Flames resume competition Friday at 10:30 a.m. CT with prelims in the 100 Butterfly, 400 IM, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke and 3-Meter Diving. The finals start at 6 p.m. CT. Friday's finals events include the 100 Butterfly, 400 IM, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, 3-Meter Diving and 400 Medley Relay.
