TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The UIC softball team (0-22, 0-1 MVC) fell to Indiana State (11-11, 1-0 MVC) to open Missouri Valley Conference play Sunday evening, 13-0.
- Sophomore JoJo Santiago went one-for-two when she smacked a single down the left field line. Santiago is now batting .267 on the season with eight hits on the season.
- Senior Christina Toniolo had a relief appearance in the circle, pitching 1.2 innings, striking out one and walking one.
- Junior Miranda Gomez pitched the last two innings in the circle. She threw innings only allowing four Sycamore hits in her outing.
The Flames return to Price Field tomorrow to complete the series against the Sycamores in a double header with game one scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
Game two is scheduled to follow at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
