"I thought we came out aggressive and I thought we did a great job moving runners," UIC head coach
Lynn Curylo said. "We had two big hits from Carlee and Hailey, if we tightened up that defense it's a different score right now."

- In the bottom of first, redshirt senior Maica Ingles thwarted the Wildcats offensive momentum when catching a line shot to second and turning a double play.
- Ingles landed a hit into right field for the Flames first hit in the top of the third inning to move junior Dee Dee Caskey into scoring position after being hit by pitch. They were left on base by the third out.
- Senior Carlee Jo Clark stood at the plate with a 1-2 count in the top of the fourth inning. She launched a ball over the left field wall to get the Flames on the scoreboard, her first of the season.
- Sophomore Hailey Cowing followed Clark's home run with extra bases with a double in the gap near centerfield, her second double of the season.
- The Flames get out of the bottom of the fourth inning after sophomore Jojo Santiago threw out a Wildcat attempting to steal second to end the inning.
- Pinch-hitting sophomore Larissa Ortiz came in midway through the top of the fifth inning and landed a base hit past the third basemen.
- UIC started off the top of the sixth inning with Clark getting on base with her second hit of the game in a base hit.
- The very next at bat, Cowing crushed a ball over the centerfield wall for her second homerun of the season and the second of the game. She brought the Flames within one of the Wildcats, 4-3.
- Senior Christina Toniolo pitched the entire game in the circle in the Flames. She threw 6.0 innings, walking two runners and stuck out one.
- The Flames finished the game with seven hits overall in the game.

The Flames are set to finish their five game road trip Wednesday afternoon when they take on Eastern Illinois (14-12), first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+
