Softball Set to Battle on the Road Against #24 Northwestern Tuesday Afternoon

The Flames and Wildcats compete for the 44th time on the diamond for a one-game series

EVANSTON, Ill. – The UIC softball team (0-24) remain on the road but not too far from home when it takes on #24 Northwestern (13-8) in nonconference action Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and can be streamed on BIG+.

MATCH UP BREAKDOWN
  • This will be the 44th time the Flames and the Wildcats are set to compete on the diamond.
  • Northwestern has won the last eight meetings. The Flames last victory came on April 20, 2005, when they edged out the Wildcats, 4-3.
  • Graduate student Jordyn Rudd is off to a hot start, batting .364 with a team-leading 20 RBI's this season.
  • Junior Lauren Boyd has pitched over 43.2 innings in the circle for Northwestern, posting a 2.40 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
INDIANA STATE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Redshirt senior Maica Ingles finished the series against the Sycamores batting .428.
  • In the second game of the series against Indiana State, Ingles batting 2-for-3 and earned her team-leading fourth stolen base.
  • Big RBIs came off the bats of junior Emma Crowley and senior Alannah Cran throughout the three-game series.
