INDIANAPOLIS, IND.  – The UIC men's tennis team (5-10) dropped their match 1-4 against Friday afternoon matchup against IUPUI (4-11). The Flames earned a doubles point behind a 6-4 win. Aleska Bucan earned a victory in singles.
 
DOUBLES

• Ammar Wazir and Aleska Bucan have performed well for the Flames. They outscore Blessing Benibo and Colton Morehart of IUPUI 6-4. The two also won their doubles match against Northwestern the week before (Feb. 26).
• Miroslav Cvjetan and Artem Iermolov lost 3-6 to their opponents.
• Gustavo Schwebel and Pell Strandberg came up short in their contest 3-1.

 
SINGLES

• Aleska Bucan defeated Tom Ciszewski of IUPUI 6-4 in both matches.
• Pelle Strandberg dropped both matches 3-6.
• Jai Vallurupalli lost (1-6, 2-6) and Luis Dos Santos (3-6, 4-6).
• Miroslav Cvjetan (3-6, 5-7, 1-1) and Gustavo Schwebel's (3-6, 6-3, 3-4) matches also went unfinished.

 
The Flames will be back in action Friday, March 10. They will go up against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, which will be the start of Southland Conference play. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in Chicago.
