UIC to Take on Valparaiso in 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament

The No. 6 seed Flames will take on the No. 11 seed Beacons in the opening round Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team will be the No.6 seed in the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference's Women's Basketball Tournament and will take on No. 11 Valparaiso in the opening round of Hoops in the Heartland Thursday evening.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT at the Vibrant Arena at The MARK in Moline, Illinois. Fans can stream Thursday's contest on ESPN+.  

SCHEDULE AND TICKETS
  • The Hoops in the Heartland schedule can be found here. If the Flames win, they'll compete against No. 3 UNI at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the MVC Women's Basketball Quarterfinals. That contest will stream on ESPN+.
  • All Hoops in the Heartland Tickets will be mobile. Fans can purchase Session 2 tickets by emailing athleticsticketing@uic.edu, or by calling the athletics ticketing office at (312) 413-UIC1 (8421).

TIP-OFF RECEPTION
  • UIC will be hosting a tip-off reception from 6-8 p.m. in the Davenport Room at Hotel Blackhawk.
  • Those interested in attending will need to RSVP at faf@uic.edu
TEAM SEND-OFF
  • Approximately two hours before every game at the Tournament, fans are encouraged to gather in the lobby of the Hotel Blackhawk for a team send-off.
  • Decked out in Flames gear, fans are invited to as they look to cheer UIC to victory.
  • Fans will be joined by members of the UIC band and spirit squad in the pregame festivities.
  • To remain in the loop, UIC fans are encouraged to follow the Flames on social media for updates on the team send-offs each day of the tournament.
STAY IN THE KNOW
  • To remain up to date throughout the tournament, fans are encouraged to go to the Hoops in the Heartland webpage.
  • Fans can purchase tickets, get directions to the arena, hotels, information on the Quad Cities and its airport. On the Tournament Central tab, fans can see the tournament bracket, and the times of every game scheduled to play.
  • Fans can also download the Hoops in the Heartland app, available on Google Play and the Apple Apps Store.
Broadcasting Information
  • All opening round, quarterfinal and semifinal games at the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament will be available to stream on ESPN+.
  • The championship game will be broadcast on ESPNU and fans can also stream the game on ESPN+.
