BLOOMINGTON, IND. – The UIC diving team is preparing for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships. UIC is sending Ciara McCliment, Kerry-Leigh Morrison, Cole Tremewan, and Bruno Carrillo to Bloomington, Ind. to represent the Flames. The competition begins Thursday, Mar. 9 and ends on Saturday, Mar. 11. Top finishers will have a chance to compete in the 2023 NCAA Championships.

This comes as the men's team collected gold at the Mid-American Conference Championships. Tremewan dominated on the boards, placing first in both the 1m and 3m diving events. Carrillo also earned a podium finish for the Flames, coming in sixth. Tremewan was honored as the Outstanding Diver and named to All-MAC First Team.

On the women's side, McCliment and Morrison started off the winning streak weeks before, at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. Ciara McCliment came out on top at three meters and Morrison placed fourth. McCliment was added to First-Team for her 3m diving, while Morrison was recognized as Freshman Diver of the Meet.

The team of divers is led by coach Susan Bromberg, who earned Diving Coach of the Year for both the men (MAC) and women (MVC).
