CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team returns to Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend, as it travels to Murray State for a three-game series. The Flames' third MVC series of the season is set to begin Friday evening from Johnny Reagan Field and will conclude with a Sunday afternoon 1:00 p.m. matinee.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
- The Flames and Racers will face off this weekend for the first time in program history, as the Flames continue their first-ever Missouri Valley Conference season.
- Murray State enters the weekend with a 15-14 overall record, and currently sit in a tie for second place in the Missouri Valley with a 3-3 conference record.
- Prior to a mid-week win over Southeast Missouri, the Racers most recently took two out of three games from Valparaiso April 2-3.
- Carson Garner ranks third in the MVC with 29 RBI on the season and is also tied for the team lead in doubles with seven on the year.

FLAMES FACTS
- The Flames enter the weekend following a 6-3 mid-week win over Northern Illinois at Curtis Granderson Stadium Tuesday night. Most recently in Missouri Valley Conference play, UIC took one out of three from Indiana State, including the first-ever MVC win for the Flames last Friday.
- Kade Lancour is scheduled to make a return to the rotation this weekend after exiting his start against Southern Illinois on March 25 early due to injury. Lancour currently owns a 3-2 record in his six starts, and leads eligible pitchers with a 5.72 ERA.
- Charlie Szykowny continues to pace the Flames offense, earning an honorable mention for Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week after hitting three home runs in the Indiana State series. He has ballooned his batting average to .333, and also leads the team with eight home runs and 24 RBI.
