Flames Collect Seven Hits Against Belmont Friday Night

The Final Game of the Series Set for Noon on Saturday

CHICAGO –The UIC softball team couldn't fend off Belmont in game two of its three-game series Friday night, falling to the Bruins, 7-0.
  • Redshirt senior Maica Ingles started the game with an infield single. She now leads the Flames in hits with 22.
  • Junior Dee Dee Caskey followed her teammate in the very next at-bat when landed a bunt. The Flames centerfielder has had four hits over the past four games.
  • Anna Walker led the Flames offensively with two hits in the game. This is her first multi-hit game for the junior since she went 2-for-3 against Iowa State in the Fresno State Invitational back on Feb. 17.
  • Hailey Cowing was the lone Flame to get extra bases in the game, with a double between the gap in the middle of the game. The sophomore ties senior Carlee Jo Clark with five doubles on the season.
  • Junior Miranda Gomez started in the circle. She pitched 2.1 innings, striking out two batters and all walking one.
  • Clark made her 10th pitching appearance of the season, coming into the game in relief for Gomez. She pitched 4.2 innings in the game and struck out two Bruins in her outing.
