CHICAGO – The UIC men's basketball team, along with head coach
Luke Yaklich, announced Friday the signing of Nathan Ojukwu, a 6'6" forward from Boise, Idaho.
Â
"We are excited to welcome Nathan Ojukwu into our UIC men's basketball family," commented Yaklich. "Nathan had an outstanding high school career in Idaho and then a successful prep school season at DME in Florida. Nathan is a dynamic wing that has a passion for basketball and will bring a competitive spirit and work ethic that will help our team on both ends of the floor. Nathan will major in computer science and minor in music."
Â
Ojukwu, a left-handed shooter, plays a strong game at the rim, while also possessing the ability to knock down shots in a catch-and-shoot capacity. He is also a strong rebounder, competing at both ends of the floor as an active wing player.
Â
The Boise, Idaho native represents the first non-transfer addition to the UIC roster for the 2023-24 season. Ojukwu played one season at DME Academy in Florida, renowned for producing high-caliber talent. Nathan is the fifth offseason addition to the Flames roster, joining Andrew King, Isaiah Rivera, Marquise Kennedy and Yusef Sahil.
