CHICAGO (Aug. 18, 2023) – The UIC women's soccer team (0-0-1) is set to travel to Madison, Wisconsin for a Sunday afternoon matchup against Big Ten opponent Wisconsin (0-0-1). Sunday's contest marks the first match between the two teams.
UIC kicked off the 2023 regular season on Thursday, playing to a 2-2 draw against Toledo. Sophomore
Makenna Maloy and junior
Kaysey Castro scored for the Flames while redshirt junior goalkeeper Lauren Kieser made two crucial saves in the tie.
In their opening match of the season, the Badgers failed to put points on the board against Kansas, resulting in a 0-0 draw. The Flames' defense will need to be prepared for Wisconsin's offensive assertiveness, as the Badgers fired 23 shots against the Jayhawks, with nine of those shots coming on goal.
Sunday's contest will start at 1 p.m. at the Dan McClimon Memorial Soccer Complex. The match can be seen on B1G+ for those with a paid subscription. Live stats will also be available at UICFlames.com.
