CHICAGO (Aug. 28, 2023) – The UIC softball team unveiled its 2023 fall schedule Monday afternoon. The Flames are scheduled to compete in eight games this fall, including facing two ranked opponents across a two-week span.

"Fall games are a great opportunity for us to see where we are as a program," UIC head coach Lynn Curylo said. "It is also an opportunity for our alumni and fans to get to know our new players."

The 2023 fall season begins on Sept. 23 as UIC hosts three programs in round-robin action at Flames Field. The Flames begin the day hosting DePaul at 9 a.m. and then host Green Bay at 2 p.m.

The Flames will be back on the diamond the following week for a home game against South Suburban College (Sept. 29) at 4 p.m.

Two days later, UIC heads on the road to take on Northwestern at Sharon J. Drysdale Stadium in a doubleheader. The Wildcats advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in 2023 and finished the year ranked No. 12 in the final 2023 USA Today / NFCA Division 1 Top 25 Coaches Poll. Game One gets underway at 1 p.m. followed by Game Two at 3:30 p.m.

The Flames finish up the home portion of their fall slate on Oct. 6 with a game under the lights against Rock Valley College, with the action starting at 6 p.m.

UIC finishes up its fall schedule with a trip to South Bend, Ind. to take on Kentucky and Notre Dame (Oct. 8). This will be the UIC's second time taking on Kentucky in 2023. The Flames faced the Wildcats at the OU Tournament in Norman, Oklahoma in March. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. UIC's contest against Notre Dame will start at 4 p.m. at Melissa Cook Stadium.
