CHICAGO (Sept. 15, 2023) – The UIC women's soccer team (1-4-2) is set to begin Missouri Valley Conference play against Southern Illinois (1-3-3) on Sunday. The Flames will hit the road for their first conference match of the season.

LAST TIME OUT
UIC wrapped up non-conference competition with a 2-1 loss against an undefeated Maine squad. Sophomore Bella Baker (West Bend, Wis./West Bend) notched the team's lone goal. She currently is UIC's the leading scorer with two goals this season.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
SIU ended out-of-league play with a 1-3-3 record. Its only victory came against Jackson State in August. The team secured draws against Kansas City, SIUE and Lindenwood. The Salukis' three losses came against IUPUI, SEMO and North Alabama.

Sunday's contest will mark the second meeting between the Flames and the Salukis. In their initial encounter in 2022, UIC emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
