CHICAGO (Sept. 27, 2023) – The UIC women's soccer team (3-5-2, 2-1 MVC) is home Thursday evening for the second contest of its three-match homestand as the Flames prepare for conference tilt against Murray State.
LAST TIME OUT
Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week
Emmy Higgins (Evansville, Ind./Castle), along with sophomore
Makenna Maloy (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) and junior
Katelyn Nardulli (Naperville, Ill./Xavier) found the back of the net for the Flames in their 3-1 win over Drake. This victory dealt Drake its first conference loss of the season.
The victory was also head coach
David Nikolic's tenth win at the helm of the Flames.
SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
The Racers currently sport a season record of 2-6-3. The team has played to draws in all three of its MVC matchups, with scoreless outcomes against Missouri State, Belmont and Evansville. Murray State has not found the back of the net since their match on Sept. 7 against Oklahoma. Mary Hardy leads her team with two goals and has logged 840 minutes this season.
Last year's 1-1 tie marked the inaugural meeting between UIC and Murray State on the pitch. This is the first time the Racers will take on the Flames in Chicago.
