CHICAGO (Dec. 4, 2024) - The UIC Flames baseball team is set for a thrilling 2024 season, featuring a 55-game schedule designed to challenge the squad both regionally and nationally. The Flames will play 33Â games on the road and 22Â at home at Curtis Granderson Stadium, with a non-conference slate that includes matchups against perennial powerhouses such as Georgia and Louisville.
"We're excited about the opportunities this schedule provides," said head coach Sean McDermott. "Facing some of the best programs in the country early in the season will prepare us for the rigors of Missouri Valley Conference play. We aim to build off last year's successes and make a deep postseason run."
The Flames kick off the season with a four-game swing in Charleston, South Carolina, with contests against The Citadel and Charleston Southern (Feb. 14-17). They'll then travel to Athens, Georgia, for a marquee four-game series (Feb. 20-23) against a Georgia team expected to be nationally ranked.
Additional non-conference highlights include a trip to Louisville (March 7-9) and a three-game series at Purdue (March 14-16). UIC also hosts games against regional rivals Northwestern (April 1), Milwaukee (March 11), and Iowa (May 6).
UIC opens its home schedule on February 25 against North Park at 4:00 p.m. All home games will be played at Curtis Granderson Stadium, offering free admission to fans. Additionally, many games will be streamed live on the ESPN digital networks, including ESPN+.
