REGULAR SEASON IN REVIEW
- The Flames finished off the 2023-24 regular season with conference victories against Evansville (182-98, 156-64) and Valparaiso (190-68). UIC was ranked sixth in the MVC Pre-Championship Poll released Feb. 15.
- Sophomore Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Gauteng, South Africa) finished off regular season competition with her third MVC Diver of the Week award on Feb. 8. She earned a career high on the three-meter board with a score of 285.38 points to win the event in the tri-meet against Southern Illinois and Valparaiso on Feb. 2. At the UIC Diving Invitational on Feb. 3, Morrison won her second event of the weekend, this time on the one-meter board with a 250.65-point performance. Dating back to the FAU Fun Invite on Dec. 20, Morrison has placed in the top three of the last 12 events she has competed in.
- Senior Izabella Del Rosario (South Elgin, Ill./Saint Charles North) collected MVC Swimmer of the Week honors on Nov. 2 for her work in the dual meet against Milwaukee on Oct. 27. She won both of her individual events, finishing the 50 butterfly in 25.91 seconds and later the 100 butterfly in 57.96 seconds. She also swam legs on UIC's second-place finishes in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay at the meet.
- Long distance swimmer Madison Helmick (Bingham Farms, Mich./Birmingham Groves) has made significant strides during her sophomore season. A perennial threat to place in the top three of every freestyle event, Helmick has posted five new career-high marks this season, including four at IUPUI's House of Champions Meet in November.
