CLEVELAND (Feb 6, 2024) – The Mid-American Conference named UIC men's tennis sophomore Robinson Le Meur (Evreux, France/Sciences Po Bordeaux) its Singles Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

Le Meur went 2-0 in singles competition at the No. 3 spot for the Flames this past week, defeating opponents from Chicago State (6-3, 6-1) and Northwestern (6-1, 3-1). The sophomore is currently on a three-match win streak and is tied for the team lead with three singles wins on the season. Le Meur is undefeated at the No. 3 singles spot in 2024.

"Robinson is one of the hardest working student-athletes in college tennis and is becoming a true leader on and off the court," said head coach Jovan Parlic. "We are extremely proud of his accomplishment."

Le Meur is the first UIC men's tennis student-athlete to receive a weekly honor from the MAC. 2024 marks UIC's first season as an affiliate member of the conference. He is also the first Flames men's tennis student-athlete to receive a weekly conference honor since the Southland Conference named Aleksa Bucan (Belgrade, Serbia/Arkansas) its Player of the Week last April.
The Flames are back in action Sunday, when they host IUPUI. The Feb. 11 match will start at 10 a.m. at the XS Tennis Village. The Jaguars are 3-4 on the season and are coming off a 7-0 loss against Dayton (Feb. 4). UIC has won ten of its last 15 matches against IUPUI, dating back to 2000, but the Jaguars have won three of the last four matches against the Flames.
