GAME SUMMARY
- The Tommies scratched the board first in the top of the first inning, as a diving attempt in the right-center field gap by Flames center-fielder AJ Henkle (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) came up just short, allowing two runs to cross the plate before a great relay throw from Ryan Nagelbach (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) cut down the batter trying to round the bases for an inside the park home run to end the inning.
- Jackson Bessette (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) opened the scoring for UIC in the home half of the first inning, as he launched his second home run of the season to the opposite field, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
- Henkle would tie the game later in the inning, as his RBI double down the left field line notched his 13th RBI of the season.
- The Flames would take their first lead of the game in the bottom of the third inning, as Kendall Ewell (Calumet City, Ill./Kentucky) cleared the loaded bases with a double into the left field corner, giving UIC a 5-2 advantage.

Â
- A two-run double from Nagelbach extended the UIC advantage to 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning, as he made an offensive impact in his first game back since Feb. 23 against Lamar.
- The Flames added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on back-to-back RBI singles from Carson Roberts (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton North) and Zane Zielinski (Chicago, Ill./Lake View).
- Dillon Schueler (Rock Falls, Ill./Rock Falls) had yet another strong outing for the Flames Saturday, managing to go seven complete innings, striking out four and surrendering only four earned runs.
- The Flames added five insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth, and earned Schueler his third win of the season by a 14-5 final score.
