MADISON, Wis. (Aug. 29, 2024) – Playing in its first road match of the season, the UIC men's soccer team (1-2-0, 0-0-0 MVC) paid a visit to No. 22 Wisconsin (3-0-0, 0-0-0 B1G) Thursday night for the Flames' first match against a ranked opponent this season. Amidst an offensive onslaught from the Badgers in the first half, the Flames were able to get as close as 2-1, but eventually fell by a final score of 5-1.
After Wisconsin netted the first two goals of the match in the first 15 minutes, the Flames answered back with a goal from
Bart Muns (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Santa Barbara CC) on a beautiful ball from
Paul Brauckmann (Welver, Germany). That would be as close as UIC would get, as the Badgers would go on to win 5-1.
