Women’s Soccer Faces Kansas City in Final Non-Conference Match

Flames Take on Roos at 4:30 p.m. at Flames Field

CHICAGO (Sept. 11, 2024) – The UIC women's soccer team (1-6-0, 0-0-0 MVC) is set to kick off its final non-conference match against Kansas City on Thursday at Flames Field. The game will be livestreamed, and live stats will be available.

LAST TIME OUT
UIC fell 3-0 to Gonzaga (3-2-1, 0-0-0 WCC) on Sunday afternoon at Flames Field. The Flames trailed after a first-half goal from the Bulldogs, who secured the win with two more goals in the second half. Sophomore Amina Marin (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) made her first collegiate start in the match.
 
SCOUTING KANSAS CITY
Kansas City enters Thursday's match undefeated with a record of 4-0-3. The Roos have secured wins over Emporia State (2-0), Lindenwood (3-0), MVC member Southern Illinois (2-0), and Tulsa. They also played to draws with No. 12 Saint Louis, Marquette, and MVC opponent Missouri State.
 
Forward Madison Page leads the team with three assists and seven points this season. As a team, Kansas City averages 1.43 goals per game while conceding 0.29. They take 13.3 shots per match compared to their opponents' 8.4.
 
The last time the two teams met was on Sept. 3, 2023, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In the previous two meetings, UIC lost, making the all-time record 0-2-1. The Flames will look for their first victory over the Roos on Thursday.

The Flames will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday with a celebration recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans on the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. The day will also feature a doubleheader, with the UIC men's soccer team taking on Loyola at 7:30 p.m. following the women's match.
