ST. LOUIS (Sept. 12, 2024) – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its second weekly honors of the 2024-25 season early Thursday afternoon. Junior
Ellie McDonald (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) was named MVC Golfer of the Week after winning her first collegiate individual championship at the Point O'Woods Women's Collegiate out in Benton Harbor, Mich this past Monday.
"I am so excited for Ellie receiving her first MVC Golfer of the Week award," head coach
Angela Rayhill said. "She has worked extremely hard over the summer to get to this point. I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of the fall season will go."
McDonald led the field of 33 competitors on the course Monday, shooting one-under-par on the par-72 course. She led the Flames to team championship (+11_ with three fellow teammates earning medals: freshman
Alejandra Ereño (Madrid, Spain/ Colegio Nuestra Senor del Recuerdo) placed second (+1), freshman
Camille Rosier (Paris, France/ Lycee International C. De Gaulle) tied for third (+2) and junior
Chaewon Jeong (Seoul, South Korea/Laurel Springs Schools) finished fifth (+3).
The Flames return to the course next Monday to compete in Ball State's Brittany Kelly Classic Sept. 16-17 at
the Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Ind. The two-day event will be available to follow at
