CHICAGO (Sept. 16, 2024) – The UIC volleyball team (7-2, 0-0 MVC) couldn't spark any offensive momentum falling in four sets against Chicago State (4-6, 0-0 NEC) at the Jones Convocation Center Monday night.
Graduate student
Zahria Woodard (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) tallied eight kills and four total blocks. Junior
Ayat Amin (Cairo, Egypt/ Al Waha International School) contributed six kills and four total blocks. Junior
Cleo Lorenzo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Elite) and sophomore
Tamara Kisic (Belgrade, Serbia) each collected five kills.

- Woodard now sits at 105 kills in the season, the first member of the Flames to hit the 100-kill mark.
- Sophomore libero Hannah Howard (Toledo, Ohio/Eastern Michigan/Saint Ursula Academy) extended her 10+ digs to eight straight matches with 13 digs against the Cougars.
- Senior Kayanna Jones (Normal, Ill./Normal West) has tallied 55 kills so far in the season, already more than her first three seasons at UIC combined.
- Junior setter Francesca Venturini (Bergamo, Italy/ Liceo Classico Paolo Sarpi) has tallied 227 assists in the season, having tallied 20+ assists in each match this season for the Flames. She has averaged 6.14 assists per set, ranking ninth in the Missouri Valley Conference.
