CHICAGO (Sept. 30, 2024) — The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) announced the appointment of longtime UIC diving coach Susan Bromberg to its Board of Directors this past Friday.

Bromberg will join the 17-member board of directors to serve as the men's diving representative. She will serve until May 2025, with an option for a two-year extension that could have her on the board until May 2027.

"I am truly honored to be appointed to the CSCAA Board of Directors as the men's diving representative, especially during this time within college athletics," Bromberg said.

The reigning Missouri Valley Conference and Mid-American Conference Diving Coach of the Year is coming off of a stellar 2023-24 season. On the men's side, she led a sweep of both events with junior Harrison Nolan (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield/Kentucky) winning both events. On the women's side, Bromberg was instrumental in senior Ciara McCliment (Farmington Hills, Mich./Mercy) in winning her second-consecutive three-meter diving event.

Bromberg brought a record-breaking five UIC divers to the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships last March in Louisville, Ky. She played a role in Nolan finishing 10th in the finals of the one-meter diving event with a score of 639.90 points, the highest finish by a UIC diver at Zones.

This is another leadership role Bromberg adds to her 38-year coaching career in the Chicagoland area. Bromberg has remained a member of the NCAA Zone Diving Committee as a Zone C representative and is the Chair of the Coaches Advisory Committee of USA Diving. She also is a member of the NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving's Rules Committee. Bromberg is entering her 17th as the head diving coach here at UIC.

The 2024-25 is set begin for UIC swimming and diving Saturday, Oct. 12, when they travel to Muncie, Ind. to face off against Ball State at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.
