NASHVILLE (January 10, 2025) – The UIC women's basketball team (4-9, 1-3 MVC) offense caught momentum too late in the game, falling to Belmont (8-7, 3-1 MVC) in Missouri Valley Conference action on the road at the Curb Event Center Friday afternoon.
The Flames were led by senior
Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette), who scored 15 points, secured two rebounds and stole the ball once. Graduate student
Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and stole the ball twice.

COMMENT FROM HEAD COACH ASHLEEN BRACEY
"Disappointed in the loss. I thought we came out really tentative obviously with the five-point first quarter, and it was difficult to get us back in flow. I thought we came out of half time with some intensity, and obviously we improved from an offensive standpoint and a defensive standpoint. It's just one of those where we are still trying to figure out how to put four quarters together against The Valley and the top teams in The Valley and you have to do so in order to give yourself a chance to win. We've got a quick turnaround; we have Murray on Sunday. We will watch some film and get back to work."
