CHICAGO (Jan. 25, 2025) – The UIC women's basketball team (5-11, 2-5 MVC) finishes out its three-game Missouri Valley Conference home stand Sunday afternoon, when they host Valparaiso (6-12, 2-5 MVC) for a 2 p.m. (CT) tip-off. The game will be available to stream on

It is also Sparky's Kids Club Day, where members will be able to pick up their kits and those interested in signing up will be able to do so free of charge.

SCOUTING VALPARAISO
- This will be the 58th time both programs are set to battle it out on the hardwood. UIC holds an 31-26 lead on the overall series, having gone 5-1 against the Beacons since joining The Valley in July 2022.
- In their last meeting, the Flames mounted a 13-point comeback against the Beacons in the opening round of the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament (Hoops in the Heartland) to win 79-77 on March 14. Graduate student Danyel Middleton (Chicago, Ill./Bolingbrook/Marquette) led the way with a 22-point point performance. Senior Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) netted 17 points and grabbed four rebounds in the win.
- The Beacons snapped a five-game MVC losing streak with a 59-52 victory over Bradley (8-10, 2-5 MVC) at home on Sunday. They were led by fifth-year wing Leah Earnest, who scored 27 points and grabbed eight defensive rebounds in the win.
- Alongside Earnest, sophomore Nevaeh Jackson isn't shy on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 13.1 PPG, ranking 19th in the entire MVC.
LAST TIME OUT – VS. ILLINOIS STATE
- The Flames battled it out against Illinois State (11-7, 5-2 MVC) in front of a home crowd Sunday afternoon at Credit Union 1 Arena, falling short in a 75-66 bout in front of the home crowd.
- Senior Ky Dempsey-Toney (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) had a strong game off the bench, scoring a team-high 16 points, collected seven rebounds and a pair of blocks.
- Senior Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Central Carolina) contributed 14 points, four assists and three steals with a team-leading 32 minutes on the court.
- Williams contributed with a 12-point performance for her team-leading 10th game in double figures.
