CHICAGO – T The UIC women's volleyball team (12-7, 6-3 MVC) looks to continue its winning ways Friday night when it hosts Southern Illinois (10-12, 4-4 MVC) in Missouri Valley Conference play. First serve at Credit Union 1 Arena is set for 6 p.m. (CT).

SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS

• The Flames and Salukis met nearly two weeks ago in Carbondale, where UIC earned a straight-set victory. Senior Ayat Amin led the attack with 13 kills and three blocks.
• The Salukis had a great weekend on the road, earning wins against Bradley (8-12, 2-6 MVC) and Illinois State (8-12, 3-5 MVC).
• Junior libero Jillian Shaneyfelt was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 45 digs, including a career-high 28 against Bradley.
• Senior middle blocker Larissa Seger ranks third in the conference in hitting percentage, posting a .352 mark on the season.

LAST MATCH RECAP – vs. VALPARAISO

• The Flames put an end to Valparaiso's (12-7, 7-2 MVC) six-match winning streak Tuesday night on the road at the Athletics-Recreation Center, 3-1.
• Redshirt sophomore Antonie Kelnárová led the Flames with 18 kills and 19 digs in the win.
• Senior Julieta Sandez had 12 kills and five blocks in the win. Amin also chipped in 11 kills.
• The Flames collected a season-high 88 digs in the win.
