CHICAGO – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its first set of weekly honors for the 2025-26 women's basketball season, naming senior
Jessica Carrothers it's Newcomer of the Week Monday afternoon.

Ashleen Bracey said. "She is consistent and does the work every day in practice!! We are anxious to get back to Credit Union 1 Arena on Thursday and compete against Northern Illinois."
The Crown Point, Ind. native finished the first week of non-conference play averaging 22.5 points, 4.0 rebound, 3.5 assists per game, shooting 62.9 percent from the field.
In her first game at Credit Union 1 Arena against Robert Morris (2-0 0-0 Horizon), Carrothers scored 28 points, shooting 14-for-20 (70 percent) with four assists, rebounds and a pair of steals. She closed out her week with a 17-point performance on the road against Indiana (2-0, 0-0 Big Ten) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Friday night.
Carrothers is tied in the MVC in points per game, and fourth in field goal percentage amongst the conference. She also holds the fourth-best assist/turnover ratio at 3.5.
The Flames are back at Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night, taking on Northern Illinois (0-2, 0-0 MAC) at 7 p.m. (CT). The game will stream live on
