Women’s Basketball Host Wisconsin in Wednesday Night Matinee

The Flames look to get their first Big Ten victory since 2013

CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (1-2,0-0 MVC) stays right at home to take on Wisconsin (4-1, 0-0 Big Ten) at Credit Union 1 Arena Wednesday night in nonconference action. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (CT).
 
The game will stream live on ESPN+, or on the Marquee Sports Network. Live stats will also be available at UICFlames.com. Fans looking to purchase tickets in advance can do so through Ticketmaster. UIC students with a valid school ID will receive free admission.
 
Fans attending UIC volleyball's Missouri Valley Conference Championship quarterfinal against Illinois State at 2 p.m. (CT) can redeem their ticket for free entry to the women's basketball game.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
  • Wednesday's matchup will be the 21st between both programs, with the Badgers leading 14-6 overall. UIC last beat the Badgers in 2013 in Madison in a tightly contested contest, 58-56. Most recently, the Flames traveled back up to Madison in November of last year and lost 61-57.
  • Wisconsin faced off against in-state foe Green Bay, taking the win 76-72 on Sunday. Graduate Student Destiny Howell led the Badgers in scoring with 23 points, including three triples and a pair of steals. 
  • Howell spent five seasons with Howard University before making the switch to the Big Ten. She led the team to five straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference titles (MEAC) while managing nine 20-point games and a first career double-double last season.
  • The Badgers enter this matchup on a three-game winning streak, taking down Milwaukee and Bowling Green. This will be their second away game of the season, losing to Marquette in Milwaukee earlier in the campaign.
LAST GAME RECAP – vs. NORTHERN ILLINOIS
  • Behind an outstanding 25-point second quarter, the Flames seized their first win of the 2025-26 campaign over Northern Illinois at Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night , 66-55.
  • In that second quarter, the Flames saw themselves shoot 57.1% from the field and went perfect from the free-throw line, going eight for eight. It gave the Flames the lead 37-22 going into halftime.
  • Senior Jessica Carrothers completed the game with a team-high 22 points, going 10-18 from the field and two for two from the charity stripe.
  • Sophomores TuTu Clayton and Samantha Serrano both claimed double-digit points while redshirt Sophomore Julia Coleman was devastating around the rim, snagging 10 rebounds, six points, and a pair of steals in the victory over the Huskies.
