CHICAGO – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its weekly award winners Tuesday afternoon, and the Flames saw three members recognized. Freshman Jay Stewart earned MVC Men's Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week and junior Christian Curtis alongside senior Kerry-Leigh Morrison earned MVC Diver of the Week honors.

Stewart had another excellent meet for the Flames against Milwaukee. He placed second in the 50 freestyle (20.62), 100 butterfly (49.09) and was a key contributor to the 200 freestyle relay (1:23.91) that placed second.

The Freshman continues to dominate to start his collegiate career, earning his third career weekly accolade in as many attempts. Earlier this season Stewart earned MVC Men's Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 15 and MVC Men's Freshman of the Week on Oct. 28. Stewart has won seven total events across four meets this season.

Curtis was outstanding on the diving boards for the Flames against the Panthers, sweeping both events in dominant fashion. He scored 341.25 points on the three-meter board and 329.55 points on the one-meter board, outscoring the competition by more than 40 points in both events. His score on the three-meter board is a career best.

This is the first weekly recognition for Curtis in his collegiate career. This season the junior has won three events across four meets. Curtis continues the Flames supremacy on the diving boards, as the men and women have combined for five Diver of the Week accolades and the men have won the honor every week they have been eligible this season.

Morrison had an exceptional meet on the diving boards. In the meet at Milwaukee, Morrison swept the diving events scoring 270.38 points in the three-meter and 265.28 points in the one-meter, helping lead the Flames to a 161.5-138.5 win over the Panthers. Morrison's score on the one-meter meets the qualification standard for NCAA Zone C Cuts. Morrison has now met the qualifying score in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.

This is Morrison's second MVC Women's Diver of the Week honor this season (Oct. 15), and seventh in her career. Morrison has won eight individual events this season in eight tries, sweeping the diving events in all four meets this season.

UIC continues to be a mainstay in the MVC weekly awards earning its seventh, eighth and ninth recognitions this season. The Flames honored this season are Harrison Nolan (Men's Diver of the Week - Oct. 15, Oct. 28), Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Women's Diver of the Week - Oct. 15, Nov. 4), Jay Stewart (Men's Swimmer of the Week - Oct. 15, Men's Freshman of the Week - Oct. 28, Nov. 4), Georgina Bell (Women's Swimmer of the Week - Oct. 21) and Christian Curtis (Men's Diver of the Week - Nov. 4).
