SCOUTING VALPARAISO
- Sunday will be the 60th meeting all-time between the Flames and Beacons. UIC holds a 32-27 all-time lead versus Valparaiso. Last time around, the Flames fell 60-51 in Indiana on Feb. 13.
- In their most recent match, the Beacons lost to St. Bonaventure (7-3, 0-1 A10) 87-55 in Ohio. Off the bench, sophomore Kylie Waytashek was the sparkplug for a 20-point 2nd quarter, scoring 18 and grabbing 6 rebounds.
- Senior Fiona Connolly leads the team in scoring this season with 12.8 PPG and is second in rebounds with 4.8 RPG.
- Finishing with a record of 13-19 overall and 9-11 in MVC action last season, the Beacons look for their first win of the season, coming closest against Milwaukee (2-8, 0-1 Horizon), losing 72-67 in OT on Nov. 16.
LAST GAME RECAP – VS OHIO
- The Flames narrowly fell to Ohio, 72–70, Friday night at the Convocation Center.
- Sophomore Samantha Serrano scored a season-high 18 points and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.
- Graduate student Sara Zabrecky posted 16 points, tying her career high with five made three-pointers.
- Redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman added 15 points, eight rebounds, and three steals in 29 minutes.
- The Flames sank a season-high 13 triples in the game, setting a new record of most three-pointers in a game during head coach Ashleen Bracey's tenure.
