CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 14, 2025) – The UIC baseball team (0-1, 0-0 MVC) opened the 2025 regular season Friday afternoon, as it took on The Citadel (1-0, 0-0 SoCon) at the Bulldogs' home field in Charleston. The Flames surrendered the lead early to the Bulldogs, allowing runs in the first three innings to fall behind 4-0.
Dillon Schueler battled through adversity, giving the Flames four and a third innings on the bump despite the early hiccups. The Flames' offense struggled to get started, managing only three hits on the afternoon. Two home runs from Matthew Lively helped propel the Bulldogs to a 9-1 final score.
