ATHENS, Ga. (Feb. 21, 2025) - The UIC baseball team (1-5, 0-0 MVC) opened up a four-game series at no. 8 Georgia (6-1, 0-0 SEC) Friday afternoon, as the two competed in a double-header from Foley Field, falling in back-to-back games.
GAME 1 RECAP
After surrendering a pair of runs in the home half of the first inning, the Flames answered back straight away in the second, plating a run on an RBI groundout. The Bulldogs built a five-run lead before
Pambos Nicoloudes brought home a run with an infield single to cut the lead to 6-2.
Jackson Bessette drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the seventh to bring the tying run to the plate with two outs, but the Flames were unable to push anymore across the plate, falling in the series opener by a 9-3 final score.

The Flames couldn't spark any offensive momentum till the top of the fifth inning when
Lucas Smith singled out centerfield for UIC's first hit of the game.
Lucas Novak then hit a ground-rule double to give UIC runners in scoring position before being stranded. The Flames later scored its lone run of the game the next inning when a Bessette single scored
James Harris from second base before Georgia secured its win the following inning.
