Track and Field Has Strong Showing at the Alex Wilson Invite

The Flames continue to set new bests on the track.

CHICAGO (Feb. 24, 2025) – The UIC men's and women's track and field teams turned in impressive performances at the 2025 Alex Wilson Invite on Saturday, February 22nd, with several athletes setting personal and season best times.

MEN
  • The 4x400m relay team of Amare Harris (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington), Hugo Rincon (Chicago, Ill./Mt Carmel),  Paul Sackman (Lincolnwood, Ill./Niles West) and Shmouel Sackman (Lincolnwood, Ill./Niles West) set a season's best time at 3:18.34 to place fourth.
  • Paul Sackman placed fourth overall in the 60m with a time of 7.06.
  • Angel Solis (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) finished 11th overall in the 800m with a season best time of 1:55.79.
WOMEN
  • Nyarai Terry (Chicago, Ill./Thorton) took fourth in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.98.
  • In the 400m Jorie Irving (Valparaiso, Ind. Valparaiso) finished eighth with a time of 59.38 and Brianna Stark (Chicago, Ill./Noble/ITW Speer) placed 11th with a time of 1:00.21, both Flames set personal best times.
COACH'S COMMENTS

"Overall today was filled with several great performances and season's bests from team members who looked to improve their positioning to qualify for the MVC Indoor Championships next weekend." said head coach Paul Zavala. ""As we turn our attention to the Championship portion of our indoor season, we are excited to be able to co-host again the MVC Indoor Championships for the 3rd consecutive year at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center and give our team a great opportunity to compete in our great city."

UP NEXT

The Flames will co-host the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships next Sunday and Monday at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center in Chicago.
