CHICAGO – Following a historic weekend at the Drake Relays that saw four program records fall, the UIC men's and women's track and field programs return to Illinois this weekend for the Gary Wieneke Memorial. Hosted by the University of Illinois at the Demirjian Park track complex, the two-day meet offers the Flames another premier stage to sharpen their marks as the postseason approaches.
LAST TIME OUT
The Flames continued their historic outdoor campaign last weekend, putting on a record-breaking display at the 116th Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open. Competing against some of the nation's premier programs, UIC shattered four school records and secured multiple top-10 finishes.

Women's Relay Sweep:Â The Flames' relay squads rewrote three separate program records at Drake Stadium. The 4x1600m team (Gonzalez, Sterud, Dubie, Oyebanji) clocked a 20:11.47, while the 4x200m squad (Richardson, Phillips, Ifeajekwu, Irving) storming to a 1:40.28. The 4x400m relay (Irving, Ifeajekwu, Gonzalez, Oyebanji) capped the weekend with a new benchmark of 3:49.95.

Men's Distance Record: The quartet of Alexander Das, Aiden Massaro, Brady Kataoka, and Theo Cunningham combined for a seventh-place finish in the 4x1600m relay, clocking 17:02.49 to officially set the new UIC school record.

Kip Janvrin Open: Alayna Filipiak led the way in Indianola with a strong 14th-place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:06.93).
"Coming away with four school records gives us a great opportunity to build momentum into the final weeks of the outdoor season," said head coach Paul Zavala.
