Women’s Basketball Battles Bradley in Final Missouri Valley Conference Road Game of the Season Saturday Afternoon

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CT) at the Renaissance Coliseum.

PEORIA, Ill. (Feb. 28, 2025) – The UIC women's basketball team (12-14, 9-8 MVC) is set to compete in its final Missouri Valley Conference road game of the season Saturday afternoon, when they face off against Bradley (11-17, 5-12 MVC) in a 2 p.m. (CT) tip-off at the Renaissance Coliseum.  
The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ with live stats available at UICFlames.com.

SCOUTING BRADLEY
  • This will be the 29th match-up between the Flames and the Braves. Although Bradley leads the overall series 16-12, the Flames have won all five meetings since joining the MVC in July 2022.
  • In the last meeting, the Flames defeated the Braves, 52-49 at Credit Union 1 Arena on Jan. 17. Graduate student Jaida McCloud (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) led the Flames in scoring with 19 points and four rebounds. Senior Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Central Carolina) scored nine points and led the team with five rebounds in the win.
  • After defeating Illinois State (18-10, 12-5 MVC) last weekend, Bradley aimed to remain in the win column, falling short to Valparaiso (12-16, 8-9 MVC) Thursday night, 66-64. Freshman Elie McDermid led the Braves in the game, securing a double-double with a 15-point, 10-rebound performance.
  • Senior Soleil Barnes continues a stellar first season in the MVC, averaging 15.4 points per game, ranking her ninth in the conference.
LAST GAME RECAP – AT ILLINOIS STATE
  • The Flames erased a 10-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter before falling in the final seconds to the Redbirds Thursday night, 65-64 at the CEFCU Arena.
  • Senior Ky Dempsey-Toney (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) didn't miss a single shot and free throw, scoring 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.
  • Senior Krystyna Ellew (Chicago, Ill./Taft/Wisconsin) sank three three-pointers, enroute to scoring 13 points. Ellew has shot 47 three-pointers this season, with the third-highest three-point percentage (.435) in the entire MVC.
  • Graduate students Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) and Danyel Middleton (Chicago, Ill./Bolingbrook/Marquette) each scored 10 in the contest.
NEED TO KNOW
  • Head coach Ashleen Bracey is one-win away from hitting the 50-win milestone. Near the end of her third season as head coach for the Flames, Bracey has complied a 49-47 record, holding a 51.04 winning percentage.
  • The work of the bench has continued to remain a fixture in UIC's success. Averaging 32.9 points per game, the Flames bench is the second highest in scoring in the entire NCAA DI.
