CHICAGO (Feb. 8, 2025) – Fresh off the heels of a big 79-70 win over Murray State (14-6, 8-2 MVC) Friday night, the UIC women's basketball team (9-11, 6-5 MVC) are slated to face off against Belmont (15-7, 10-1 MVC) in more Missouri Valley Conference play at Credit Union 1 Arena. Tip-off is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. (CT).
The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ with Terry Bonadonna and Kacy Standohar on the call. Fans are also encouraged to listen to the game for free on the Flames Network on through the live stats on

SCOUTING BELMONT
- This will be the sixth match-up between the Flames and Bruins. UIC is in search of their of their first victory over Belmont, with the Bruins holding a 5-0 lead in the overall series.
- In their last meeting, the Flames fell short to the Bruins in a 67-52 bout at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tenn. on Jan. 10. Senior Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) led all UIC scorers with 15 points, grabbed two boards and collected one steal. Graduate student Keimari Rimmer (Chicago, Ill./Proviso East/DePaul) scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and collected a pair of steals.
- Belmont has been on a nine-game winning streak against MVC opponents, with their last defeat coming on the road against Missouri State (17-5, 9-2 MVC) in a 57-55 defeat on Jan. 2.
- Senior forward Kendal Chessman is coming off of a 21-point, 11-rebound performance Friday night to help lead Belmont to a 69-41 victory at Valparaiso (8-14, 4-7 MVC) Friday night. It's the senior's fifth double-double of the season.
FLAMES VICTORIOUS OVER THE RACERS FRIDAY NIGHT
- After the Flames opened up the game on a 9-0 run, they kept and maintained their lead for the entirety of the game enroute to 79-70 victory in front of the home crowd Friday night.
- Senior Ky Dempsey-Toney (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) turned in another big game for the Flames off the bench, tying her career-high with 19 points, nine rebounds and only one turnover.
- Senior Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Central Carolina) netted 16 points and grabbed five assists in the win.
- Graduate student Danyel Middleton (Chicago, Ill./Bolingbrook/Marquette) scored 12 points and led the team in assists with six.
NEED TO KNOW
- Graduate student Kristian Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) is two assists away from becoming the first member in program history to have 750+ points (She has 818 and counting), 500+ assists (Currently sits at 494 assists and counting) and 500+ rebounds (Sits at 543 and counting). She is also 7 assists away from becoming the all-time program leader in career assists, surpassing UIC alumni Terri Bender (2012-17) at 504 assists.
- Scoring 33 points off the bench in the win against Murray State, UIC's bench moves up to the second-best offensive-producing reserves in the entire NCAA DI, averaging 33.2 points per game.
- Midway through her third season head coach, third-year head coach Ashleen Bracey has 46 career wins at UIC, four wins away from the 50-win milestone.
