COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 1, 2025) – The UIC baseball team (2-9, 0-0 MVC) continued its weekend series against Tennessee Tech (8-3, 0-0 OVC) Saturday afternoon, as the Flames and Golden Eagles battled for each team's first game in the month of March.
Saturday's game took a very similar shape to Friday's opener, as the Flames again scored first for the fifth consecutive game.
Colin Husko brought home a run with a sacrifice bunt in the second inning before
David Cox doubled the advantage with an RBI single.
Jackson Bessette tallied his team-leading ninth RBI an inning later, putting the Flames ahead 3-0 in the third. Just as they did on Friday, the Golden Eagles answered convincingly, scoring six runs between the third and fourth inning to double up UIC 6-3. The Flames got a solo home run from
Jack Snyder in the seventh, but were unable to complete the comeback, falling by a 6-4 final score.
