CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team (3-13, 0-0 MVC) begins an eight-game road trip this weekend, as the Flames travel to Lafayette, Ind. to begin a three-game weekend series against Purdue (15-2, 2-1 B1G). This will be the first time the Flames and Boilermakers will play a three-game series since 2013, when the two sides split the first two games before the Sunday finale was canceled.

The Flames earned their first victory over a Power 4 program for the 2025 season on Wednesday, taking down Northwestern at Curtis Granderson Stadium by a 5-2 final score.
- Luke Nowak continues to pace the Flames' offense in 2025, boasting a .394 batting average, which ranks fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference.
- The all-time series between the Flames and Boilermakers stands tied at 12-12, with the two sides splitting a home-and-home series in 2024.
- UIC's pitching staff showed strong signs of life in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Northwestern, holding the Wildcats to just four hits, only one of which an extra base hit. When surrendering three or fewer runs to its opponents this season, UIC is 3-0.
