ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Conference released its 2025 Baseball Preseason Poll on Monday, as well as its Preseason All-Conference Team, and UIC RHP Reece Lawler was honored as one of two relief pitchers in the entire conference. The Flames were also picked to finish seventh in The Valley Preseason Poll.

Lawler shined on the mound in 2024 for the Flames, earning a Missouri Valley Conference-leading 12 saves on the year. He made 27 appearances throughout the 2024 season and amassed a 3.21 ERA over 33.2 innings pitched.
 
Following the completion of the season, Lawler earned several honors, including First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference and CSC Academic All-District. He was also the lone qualifier for the Flames to make it on the Academic All-America ballot for College Sports Communicators.

He has appeared in five games this season, and earned a save in UIC's 5-2 win over Northwestern on March 12.
