FORT COLLINS, Colo. (March 17, 2025) – The UIC women's basketball team season isn't over quite yet, accepting a bid to compete in the 2025 WNIT Tournament, set to begin this Friday, March 21
st at Credit Union 1 Arena against UAB in the opening round. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) tip-off.
The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ with live stats on
UICFlames.com. Fans attending are encouraged to purchase their tickets online through
Ticketmaster, as well as through the UIC Athletics Ticket Office (312-413-UIC1) or by visiting the Credit Union 1 Arena box office on game day. Doors open an hour before first tip.
"I am so excited for our program and our university," head coach
Ashleen Bracey said. "An opportunity to host in March is incredible. It guarantees one more opportunity to play in front of our Flames community. This group has worked very hard to put themselves in a position to be playing in March. We are excited to continue to push this program to new heights!"
The Flames are coming off of a 14-17 campaign after their third consecutive trip to the quarterfinals round in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament this past week. Accepting this WNIT bid is the third consecutive postseason appearance for UIC, the first in program history.
They will be facing off against the Blazers, who are coming off of 16-15 campaign, going 7-11 against conference opponents before being eliminated by Rice in the opening round of the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament. The winner between the Flames and Blazers will travel to Indianapolis to face off against Butler (15-17). The date and time for the second round game will be announced at a later date.
