Track and Field to Open Outdoor Season

This will be the first of seven scheduled meets for the Flames outdoor season.

ST. LOUIS - Coming off a successful indoor season, UIC is set to head to its first outdoor meet of the 2025 season this Thursday and Friday, at the Distance Carnival hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. There will be no field events held at the meet.
 
 
MEET INFORMATION
 
Running events will begin at 5:15 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, with finals for the events set to begin at 10:45 a.m. (CT) on Friday.
 
The event will take place at Francis Olympic Field (St. Louis, MO 63105).

FLAMES TO WATCH
 
Women
  • Sophomore Praise Oyebanji will compete in the 800m, an event she currently holds the third fastest time in school history for.
  • Graduate student Alessia Sarussi  will run the 1500m. Sarussi currently holds the school record for the Indoor Mile.
Men
  • Freshman Zachary Close will compete in the 1500m, he is currently second all time in the Indoor 5000m
  • Junior Alex Bacci will also be competing in the 1500m, he holds the fourth best time in school history for the Indoor 5000m.
