Normal, Ill. – Continuing their week on the road, the UIC softball team travels two hours south to take on the Illinois State University Redbirds in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) action. Due to rain and expected storms on Sunday, the original three-day series has been adjusted to a doubleheader on Friday, March 28^th, and a single game on Saturday, March 29^th. Game one of Friday's doubleheader will begin at noon, with game two to follow approximately 35 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Saturday's game time is TBA, with the time to be announced on Friday. Saturday's contest will be the only live-streamed game of the weekend on ESPN+. HISTORY VS ILLINOIS STATE
The Flames and Redbird's history dates back before 1993, with the Flames leading the series 8-7. The two sides last met during the 2024 season in a three-game series. The Flames took two, winning 6-5 and 10-9, while the Redbirds took one with a 6-2 victory. 
LAST GAME VERSUS NOTRE DAME

• The Flames started the week in South Bend, Ind. where they fell in a close, 2-1 contest to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. 
• Larissa Ortiz scored the Flames lone run in the top of the fourth inning off a Emma Gumont single  
• The Flames collected six hits, one each from Dee Dee Caskey, Hailey Cowing, Ortiz, Sequoia Sanchez, Grace Fleming, and Gumont.
