Chicago, Ill. – After a week on the road, the UIC softball team returns to Flames Field tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1st, when they welcome the Valparaiso University Beacons for a Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) evening doubleheader. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 4:30 PM, with game two to follow. Both games will be live-streamed on ESPN+, while live stats will be available on UICFlames.com.  

The first 100 fans to arrive will receive a free foam finger

HISTORY VS VALPARAISO 

The Flames and Beacons' history dates to before 1991, with the Flames leading the series 70-22. The two sides last met on April 30th, 2024, with a single game on Flames Field. The Flames came away with the victory, defeating the Beacons 2-0.  

LAST WEEKEND'S SERIES VS ILLINOIS STATE 

• In a weekend series that was adjusted due to weather, the Flames and Redbirds were able to complete two out of three games, with the third game being suspended due to rain and rescheduled to resume play on April 30th.  

• Game one: Illinois State 11, UIC 3 (5 Innings) 

• Game two: Illinois State 5, UIC 3 

• Game three: Tied 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning, Emma Gumont up to bat, runner on second, one out.  

• In Friday's doubleheader, Larissa Ortiz went 3-for-5 with a .600 AVG, one double, one run, and a .800 SLG% 

• Alyssa McIntosh recorded her 100th career strikeout in the Flames first game on Friday 

• Grace Fleming recorded her 100th career hit in the Flames rain-suspended game with a two-run home run
