UIC Women’s Tennis Closes Out Home Slate with Senior Day Win Over Illinois State

Womens Tennis Win 5-2

Chicago – UIC Women's Tennis (14–4, 6–1 MVC) capped off its final home match of the season in style, earning a 5–2 victory over Illinois State on Senior Day. After dropping the doubles point, the Flames responded with an incredible showing in singles, winning five of six courts to secure the win and send off their seniors with a special victory.

UIC's comeback was sparked at the top of the lineup, where Mayu Ushio delivered a 6–1, 7–6 win at No. 1 singles. Camille Belberka, Marta Halbersztadt, Dongke Liu, and Nia Cooper also recorded straight-set victories to seal the match for the Flames.

"I am so happy for our seniors finishing our last home matches strong," said Head Coach Elizabeth Robinson. "We overcame losing the doubles point and fought hard in singles until the end. We learned a lot this weekend and are excited to get back to work and build on our recent outdoor matches."

With the win, the Flames wrapped up their home schedule with strong momentum as they look ahead to the final stretch of the Missouri Valley Conference season.
